Additional Approaches to Earn Credit for Research at UofSC
We also offer the following options for undergraduate students who volunteer in the lab:
- Independent Study Credit (1-3 hours): requires 6-12 hours of work in the lab each week. You would work with me (Dr. Fitton) to develop a syllabus to fit your interests and align with the work in the lab. Download an example syllabus. Learn more about this on UofSC's Undergraduate Research website focused on Academic Credit for Research.
- Graduate with Research Distinction (2x 60-hour research experiences): you can earn distinction in research on your undergraduate transcript through completing two 60-hour mentored undergraduate research experiences. Learn more about the GLD on the Graduate With Research Distinction website.
