Why I Completed This Research: "I decided to complete my graduate research project in the Literacy Development among Diverse Learners (LDDL) lab because of my interest in expanding my knowledge base of bilingual language development. From my undergraduate education, I developed a passion for understanding the mechanics of language development of children. This passion led to special interests including learning about culturally and linguistically diverse populations and working with the autism community. I have enjoyed my experience working in the LDDL lab because I’ve gained imperative skills within a research setting including collaboration with other research partners and developing my own research project. Research in culturally and linguistically diverse populations is crucial because it assists in improving assessment measures, therapy interventions, and educating professionals who work with those individuals."
